Here are a few snap-count tidbits of interest from the Titans’ 24-10 loss to Houston on Sunday:

    • Whether it was because of new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains or simply because the Titans had to go so often to the air, both Kenny Britt (66 of 75 offensive snaps) and Jared Cook (64 of 75 snaps) saw more playing time than in any other game this season. Production, however, was not overly impressive. Cook was targeted 12 times, but caught just four passes for 51 yards. Britt was targeted eight times, but caught just two passes for 40 yards and a touchdown.
    • Due to the offensive line injuries, reserve Kevin Matthews was on the field for a career-high 52 snaps, sometimes at guard and sometimes at center. The downside for Matthews is that he was flagged three times for holding, an average of once every 17 snaps. One of the holds was negated by an offsetting defensive penalty.
    • Colin Mooney was activated on Saturday, meaning the Titans used two spots on their 53-man roster for fullbacks. But neither Mooney nor Quinn Johnson saw a lot of action, in part because the Titans fell behind early. Mooney was on the field for five special-teams snaps and zero offensive snaps, while Johnson got four offensive snaps and five special-teams snaps.
    • The Titans used four safeties in the game. Michael Griffin (72 of 73 defensive snaps) was in the contest for every snap except for one, even though he sometimes switched between free and strong safety. Jordan Babineaux got 65 snaps, with Al Afalava (eight snaps) filling in at times for him. Robert Johnson got 17 snaps.
    • Tim Shaw and Will Witherspoon did a solid job of filling in for injured Colin McCarthy at middle linebacker. Shaw was on the field for 42 of 73 defensive snaps and for 13 special-teams snaps. He led the Titans with seven tackles. Witherspoon got 31 defensive snaps and 11 special-teams snaps. He posted four tackles.

Maybe if the 9ers keep ignoring Vernon Davis, he'll want to be traded and we can get him.
