In 2001-02, Dr. Julian Bailes, chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of West Virginia, set up, in conjunction with the NFL Players' Association, the Center for the Study of Retired Athletes at the University of North Carolina. According to a study of 2,488 retired NFL players ages 24 to 95, 61 percent said they had suffered at least one concussion during their careers. Of that 61 percent, 16 percent reported that concussions have had a permanent effect on thinking and memory skills as they've gotten older.

Guess they all played for NE.......

Seriously, they are just now learning how to conduct tests that show when a player has a very severe concussion compared to a mild one. There are 3 stages...ask anyone that races cars.

Well, Bulluck punished the Pats with his mouth, but certainly not his play. He was pretty much non existant last night. He got a few "train rides" with downfield blocking, then managed to finally get in on the play. He didn't play the screens and sweeps to his side any better than he did at the end of last year. On the goal line he stayed 3 yards deep in the end zone, instead of trying to go in and fill. Naturally the Pats ran it right in. I saw him make one tackle about 13 yards downfield, and put his back against a runner as he was going down. Less talk Keith, more action please.
