Yup, it was pretty sad really.. They were surrounding me like crazy today..

I'm actually staying in Nashville tonight and the hotel is filled with nothing but 49er fans going crazy and running this joint.. If I wasn't drunk I would head back to Atlanta.

I was thinking the same thing. When DMase was here we put him in to return a punt when he was our #1 WR at the time, and he gets hurt as he's just trying to get out of bounds after fielding the punt. He was pretty upset at Fisher for putting him back there afterwards.

I also remember bad episodes with trying other returners with bad results. While I don't like Reynaud, I'm not confident we could just throw somebody out there and do better. It's a specialist job - at least at the NFL level.

We just need someone to catch the ball. That's it. Don't worry about this fancy returning. Just don't **** up. I don't care if it's Michael Roos back there if he can just catch the damn ball.

Reynaud flat out sucks, where are the guys calling for this guy over Mariani now? At least with Mariani You always thought there might be a shot that he might make a big play, now I just hold my breath and pray that Reynaud DOESNT make a big play because when he makes a big play it usually means he just benefited the opponent!

I kindof wonder if Mariani was likely going to be the guy this year and him getting hurt again in preseason threw a wrench into the options for return man. That they kept him on IR this year makes me think he would've been the guy - and that they do want him to be the guy next year.

You can't just bring in guys off the street to do this. I remember when we tried something different with Mouton back there back in 2009 vs. the Jets and he lost the ball twice on special teams fumbles before he was replaced.

I shouldn't have to cringe every time our returner is about to catch the ball. And this was before today's game.

Mason was not the #1 receiver in 99. Heck Mason hardly played on offense that year
