I think they keep both. Groom Tanney as the eventual #2.

Cassel will be a good presence to have in the QB room for both MM and Tanney. Both can probably learn from his exp, Tanney may actually benefit more from it than MM.

Cassel has had some success (albeit limited) and has played for a few different teams (including pats). He will bring a unique perspective to the QB room.

We should have traded DGB to SD, him and Mett could have set a record for most 0's.

Philip Rivers would snap so hard I think he would actually kill DGB. That is the number one qb I would not want to piss off.

I think it would be a mistake to let Tanney go. I like that they are giving him a lot of reps in preseason. Tanney seems like he has happy feet in the pocket though. Seems like he gets nervous and is quick to leave the pocket instead of trusting his protection more. Seems that way to me from watching him this preseason. But I think he has a lot of upside and should be kept around.

I'd be nervous behind our 2nd & 3rd string OL as well

Not saying we should get rid of him. I think we'll keep them both. We might try to stash Tanney on the PS though.

If you cut Cassel who is gonna pick em up. Yeah- the same team that did when he was cut before. Put him on PS. Keep Tanney on the 53.

You also have the emergency QB rule too I believe. He doesn't count against the 53 dressing out, and can be used in a game if needed, with stipulations.

Cassel is and should be QB2. Although I like Tanney and he has more long term "upside", Cassel is the more reliable back up. I'd trust him more in spot duty if we need to win a game.

Like everyone else said, he also brings more to the QB room. He can help the other two with things like game prep and film study. Keep in mind he did learn under Brady and Belichick

Now... I hate to say this... but if the worst should happen and we need someone to start for more than a few games, then I'd roll the dice with Mr. YouTube.
