Hells 2 da naw.
This was even better than the response I was hoping for.
It is outside the box thinking, but i think that Cooley could have more impact on this team than Quinn. Cooley would actually give us a recieving threat at FB. We could look like we were in our jumbo package and then spread the field with Cooley shifting to the slot and Cook shifting outside as well. Quinn is an avg. blocker and non-existent as a recieving threat. Cooley might be a bad blocker, but he does have hands.
I still want to see us use Mike Martin as a FB in short yardage situations. He is as strong as an ox and has the squatty build that allows him to get leverage. He could push the pile. I love it when the Ravens bring in a 6th OL and just announce that they are going to power run it down your throat.
This is why I don't think we should spend 2nd and 3rd round picks on TEs. Cook better be a top 5-7 TE this year.
You're apparently not alone...
No + No = No
No - No = No
If it didn't take players so long to pick up a new playbook I'd be down for this, but at this point Cooley would only hold us up. We've already got a few new moving parts on offense. QB, LG, C, RG, FB. Gotta be careful not to tamper too much with the offense.
Plus he's 30 and has knee problems.
