The Titans released receiver Chris Davis on Friday night, just three days after re-signing him to compete for return duties.

The move paves the way for veteran Alvin Pearman, who was signed last week, to handle returns in Sunday’s game at San Francisco.

The Titans had released Davis in August after he suffered a hamstring injury and was arrested on a DUI charge. There’s a possibility he will be re-signed again next week if the Titans continue to tinker with their return game.

Because of injuries to offensive linemen David Stewart and Mike Otto, the Titans are expected to sign center/guard Fernando Velasco from the practice squad to take Davis’ roster spot.

CD got paid whatever he got paid, he got a few days toward retirement, ect... There are a bunch of guys on the margin of NFL rosters and this is what they put up with. He might be in Canada next year, who knows.

I want to see him because he looked good in preseason. What i still wan't to know is wtf is goin on with hawk? He's not been given a shot at returns and isn't in a wr. I mean you could give him a few rotations right? Justin Gage is invisible.
