"Aaron Rodgers or Derrick Rose?" would work much better.

DRose....An NBA team with an elite player and otherwise scrubs=playoff bound. And NFL team with an elite player and otherwise scrubs=1st overall pick.

Rose compares more to a guy like P. Manning or Brady in his value to his team. The guy is a stud and better than Wade or Labron. He is as valuable to his Bulls team as MJ was. No contest when comparing a stud point guard to a RB.

PG is a more valuable/important position in basketball than a RB is in football, going with Rose.

As usual you take a reasonable POV and go off into the woods with it. So now CJ is "mostly" the product of great blocking. Right. He was still 4th in the league in rushing (11 TDs); better than Peterson, Jones Drew, Ray Rice and Darren McFadden. He also caught 44 passes. Even in a crap year he is one of the best. Oh, he only had 8 games where he rushed for over 100 yards... but wait, Peterson only had 5 games over 100 yards rushing.

So I guess Peterson is replaceable and mostly a product of great blocking as well? The fact is this guy is so damn good that even when he has an off year and terrible blocking he still gets solid yards and scores TDs. The guys who are replacable should be the guys who can't block or pass good enough to spread the defense.

So no one wants to turn this into Aaron Rodgers vs Derrick Rose?

I initially used C.J. and not a QB because C.J. is a Titan and to ask Jake Locker vs Derrick Rose would be silly.

Peterson isn't just a speed-back. CJ is. That's the difference. Peterson will get his yards regardless of the guys up front. CJ needs big space or else he falls down.

Solid yards? Solid. But not elite. Had Fisher not forced him the ball so much, his yards would be average like his YPC is.

So after that nauseating performance last night by D. Rose, would you all still pick him over C.J.? He absolutely lost the Bulls that game. I don't care what you say about Miami winning it, Rose chocked LeBron style.
