Even his biggest supporters won't committ to him in rd one. If he is the best QB in an entire draft he should be worth an 8th pick since we have no QB.

That is my prediction. His longest pass in the Senior Bowl was a pass to Hankerson that came up 30 yards short. He fits in a WCO that utilizes short passes and the injury concerns are legit.

I'm on the Kaeprnick bandwagon and really think he has the best combination of value and upside. Ponder's upside isn't very high.
Kaepernick is Josh Freeman with a 4.5 40 time instead of a 4.9.

Without the passing skills. Hell, VY was a better passer and less of a project than Kaepernick, just saying. I think by all accounts, the Titan FO will stay away from athletic running, but passing Project QBs from now on. Thank you Vince Young.

I agree the majority of our picks should be on the Defensive side of the slate, but you must understand we need a quarterback from the draft; now whether he'll be an instant starter, is still left to be seen..

But from scouting reports I've read on Ponder, I think he'd be a better fit with our offense better than Mallett (even if we were fortunate enough to have him still on the board at our #1 pick)

No, that's not how the draft works. Why take him at #8 when you can get him at the bottom of the first? If you just went around taking the players you wanted, without regard to their draft value, you'll end up with less talent on your roster.

Anyone that bashes Ponder but sticks up for Kaepernick should check themselves in to a crazyhouse immediately.

Kaepernick doesn't bring much at all to the table. The guy could barely handle snaps without fumbling in college.

I didn't know we were picking at the bottom of the first rd.

Bottom line is rather than play around with mocks or who might get taken where have the balls to say this guy is the best fing QB and that we should take him with our first pick. Trades are not easy to make and i'll be damned if i want us to give up a 3rd and a 4th just to move up 13 spots to get some rag arm QB.

Everyone can talk crap about every top 5 QB prospect. That's just how it is this year. The Titans need the best player available to us, which will probably end up being a defensive player. With that said, we will probably take a QB with a second or third round pick. Most likely leaving us Ponder, Dalton, Stanzi, Kaepernick...so forth. With the Jets letting go all of those players, we could possibly trade down to them and ensure a late 1st round QB.

Couldn't agree more, this guy played in a more gimmick offense than the spread, the Pistol!! and he was actually the only QB whom Cam Newton looked better throwing the ball at the combine!!! no thank you!

Even if it means skipping out on someone like Nick Fairley at #8? That's how teams like the Jaguars get screwed out of talent. Great, they have Tyson Alualu. But, what about that third round pick? How's he doing? Your strategy is stupid, it's the exact opposite of how the best teams draft. We need to accumulate premium talent by drafting on value. You don't reach almost 30 picks, especially in the first round.
