CJ cares more about yards than TDs

    2K nor 20TD means squat to me.
    The ONLY stat that impresses me at this point is how many out of 16 regular season games and beyond he can help his team win. Bitching about Shonn Greene stealing his snaps is the opposite of that..

    Listen, with the comparison to AP. Johnson was seen by everyone mailing it in. He had no interest in giving full effort for 2011 and most of last year. I don't care how bad the O line is, there is never a viable excuse for not giving your full effort. That goes for every player on the field.

    AP leaves everything out on the field, and runs as hard as he possibly can on every single carry. And is frankly a much better player than CJ. Adrian Peterson has earned a respect that Chris Johnson hasn't. CJ's lack of effort over the years, coupled with the gloating about personal statistics every offseason is not what people want to see and hear. A p/r person has counseled him on putting in that artificial, "I also want the team to do well" line.

    thats pretty much it, I hate the excuse that we should give him a pass because he is a 'playmaker' or the 'best player we have'. If the later is the case, then that really tells how poorly our team has been the past few years.

    when the little guy had 2000 it was because the Titans sucked and fishface forcefed :cj: despite the scoreboard. Im not saying :cj: didn't have good games/plays, but handing the ball too your franchise back deep into the 4Q of a game that's out of reach is - STAT GRABBING - period.

    plus that 2000 did not get the Titans into the POs lets not forget that.
    I would much rather :cj: have 2000 YFS than rushing yards. If the little guy put some pride into his receiving yards it would be pretty real awsome

    I can't imagine these comments shock anyone. Par for the course with ole CJ. Cue the defenders to say this as "no big deal"/"out of context"/etc.. Bottom line is it's yet another in a long line of selfish comments. If winning is what you really care about it, then it's pretty dumb to say you'd rather have 2,000 yards than 120 (140 including PATs) points. He says he wants to get to the playoffs again. Well here's some breaking news for you CJ, you win games by crossing the goal line. Lot of good those 2,000 yards did us in '09.

    That said, I get what he was trying to say and I'm sure he'd love to score 20 TDs. But it just amazes me how he continually chooses the worst way to make his point. Why can't someone sit this guy down and say "CJ. Just. Stop. Talking. About. Stats. Period."? At the end of the day, it always makes him look selfish.

    No RB in the league talks about personal goals as much as our guy. And I know his defenders will say "A lot of time the reporters bring it up and he's just answering the question". But what in god's name is so hard about deflecting any questions about personal goals with a simple "I just want to win football games"?

    Thats b/c we started 0-6 with a very very poor qb. Then we finished the season 8-2 with a above average qb. That was the difference. CJ no matter how much you hate him is a top 5 rb and he will show you again this year.

    PLUS, AP was force fed the ball a lot this year in the 4th quarter too. He also had a halfway decent qb for the entire season. NOT KFC for half the year!

    He was assuming that Greene would be taking his TD's and that's hes OK with that. As in he gets us to the goalline and then we insert Greene, like we did with Lendale white!

    As long as :cj:is motivated then I will be happy. Cannot change someone's personality. Way too late in life for that. But his ego, properly managed, can be used for good instead of evil.
