Why is everyone so surprised? He's not elite but he's not bad either. We have so much cap room that letting him go for nothing is stupid. We just need to use him better. Forget the RB position and start improving the places we have gaping holes (O-line, D-line and safety).

Be careful not to read too much into Monday night. The Jets have a terrible offense and did not play well.

Not surprised at this, but I am happy to hear it. I like CJ. He has shown this year that he hasn't lost his elite speed (3 runs 80+ yards this year). He is behind a terrible OL, and is still going to have well over 1000 yards. If we upgrade the OL (which should be priority #1 this offseason, IMO) he will get close to 2000 again (maybe not quite 2000, but in the 1700-2000 range).

I would like to see a BIG RB though that can be a change of pace/short yardage guy though. I think that will help CJ and the team.

I'm guessing he'll continue to suck in meaningful games, and once the season his lost, he'll light it up, just to get our faith back in him, then rinse and repeat the next season.. That seems to be his forte. A fraction of the reason why we will continue to be mediocre.

What better option do the Titans have right now?

I seriously doubt this reporter got any confirmation from the Titans front office unless they wanted to see if any other team might step in with a trade offer.
    nickmsmith high fives this.

CJ has shown if he can get a damn hole he is gone problem is its hard to pick a hole when you have to start juking once you get the handoff. Upgrade the Oline and you will get CJ2K especially nw that AP is doing what e is doing

I'm good with keeping CJ. Get the line back in order during the offseason and we all know what he can do. I would like to see us bring in a bigger back for short yardage runs. Brandon Jacobs would fill that roll and I dont expect him to be back with the 49ers.
