Yeah, hopefully he won't get lazy (like someone else we know) when he gets his payday. I'd like to think he won't and he seems like a guy that wants to go down as one of the greatest ever, so he should keep it up. We need to keep him happy with enough touches and money because I'd rather not be throwing 40 times a game. VY and our receivers are looking good, but we have the best RB in the league so that should never happen.

He won't get lazy because we aren't going to give him a raise for at least another year... The guy has three years left on his contract! Also, his salary can't rise more than 30% each year, so we'd have to give him a giant signing bonus to give him anywhere near the money that he wants.

He's started talking about it this early so that we'll tear up his deal after this next season, and not two years from now.

C.J. can't get lazy like Big Al. He's a RB that says has no home LOL. DT's can literally stand around and do nothing.

CJ will be going nowhere for quite a while. Paying him like we should will not set this team back and that won't happen IMO until at least the year after next.

It would be a bad decision to raise his pay this year. Doing that will give him the confidence to do it all over again in 3 years down the road. Sit on him again another year, give him a 5 year extension and see how it all plays out.

But however it does play out, make no mistake, this organization will not let CJ walk.

I hope this is true. I'd hate to see this kid in any other uniform.

CJ isn't a quarterback. There are tons of great runningbacks that stay on crappy teams for their entire careers.

A runningback usually isn't going to win you anything. A great QB is. The 2 best QBs last season played for the Super Bowl. The 2 best runningbacks didn't. And one didn't even make the playoffs.

Drew Brees broke records too... so should he hold out and demand he be the most high paid player? And if he does, does CJ actually think he should be paid NEAR as much as Drew Brees?

If he thinks he's got some sort of point here- he's delusional. He's not a QB, his position is far easier replaced than a QB also.

When's the last time this team had a bad RB?

    It's the blocking.

    CJ better learn that.

Typical RB in this league lasts 4-5 years. CJ is undersized, and gets too many carries, so I wouldn't be shocked if he either ends up on IR or just worn down. No way he should get top pay.

I'd rather have the money go to the rest of the team than overpay him. At his best- we still missed the playoffs. So we should give him tons of money, hold the rest of the team back and keep on that path? No thanks.

Pay him a respectable amount. If he doesn't like it, let him go try to get more than 1400 yards running behind the oline of the Raiders.

Chris "Run It Run It" Brown and a fat Lendale White come to mind right off the bat.

Chris Brown averaged more yards per carry than any RB in the league (starters, at least). He set some small records too.

Many times, Chris Brown had over 100 yards in the first half and sat the 2nd half out a lot due to being so fragile.

Sure, he was injury prone- but he was very productive when healthy.

Chris Brown was a mix of C.J. and LenDale. He was big, but not a bruiser. He was a hit or miss kind of guy for us. Chris Brown either ran for -1 yards or 19 yards.
