    Mawae had ties for several years. He knows Munchak very well I would think. Campbell played with Munchak and likely knows his character, as does Mawae. It's not the ties, but their personal knowledge of him that they are commenting on. Besides, I'm sure they didn't volunteer the opinions. They likely were asked by the media.

    The guys were interviewed are no different, they either failed in their previous HC gigs or never been one.
