    Something which was mentioned on the Munch radio show tonight is that McCarthy is going to be the defensive captain this season.

    OK, Colin is slow? White guy so I guess that automatically makes him slow. Never mind he ran a sub 4.6 40 (at the combine so that wsn't some cooked up po-day number). His lateral quickness isn't bad either. His 3-cone was the 5th best amoung LBs when he came out. . He was 5th in the 20 yard shuttle as well. His bench press was even top 10. Oh, he was 4th in the vertical jump. In fact he is a very similar athlete to Kuechly and could easily play WLB for us if needed (his numbers compare to Lavonte David as well but of course David is black so he must be faster). What I see is a MLB who has range from sideline to sideline.

    Maybe what I real like about McCarthy is he has great instincts and is constantly learning while he is out there. He will continue to get better.

    You dont need elite speed when you feel the game the way McCarthy does. He's got the same good instincts Verner has.
