"But it's the taunting rule that likely will create the biggest buzz.

Currently, players who are penalized for taunting on their way to the end zone draw a 15-yard penalty on the extra point attempt, 2-point conversion attempt or the ensuing kickoff.

Beginning in 2011, live-ball penalties will be assessed from the spot of the foul and eliminate the score. Examples include players finishing touchdown runs by high-stepping into the end zone or pointing the ball toward an opponent."

why does college football get worse every year?

Man that's gotta be the worst f...in' rule EVER. Negating a score due to showboating? WTF? Has it really come to this?

I hate this rule. I hate all the celebration rules. The league will never know when they're going overboard with this dumb so called crackdown. I don't buy that they value sportsmanship when plenty of cheap shots, bad calls, no calls, and "celebration penalties" go uncontested and decide a game's outcome. (see BYU-Washington 2008) Let the players be players. It's an emotional game.

A footrace will almost always make the player turn and look, then stretch the ball over the plane, just to be sure he gets the TD. An idiot ref can easily misjudge what happened by flagging him and negating the score.

If the league wants to better conduct games, then they should start paying attention to what's happening at every angle. Simple as that. Taunting should be less of a concern. It's not their place to do a coach's job disciplining athletes.

Can't wait for the overly exaggerated, ticky tack calls that negate touchdowns in big games. Pathetic. This is going to be disasterous.

    Oh lord...

you'd better not even crack a smile after a TD if you're playing an SEC team.

And how long will it take for that rule to rear it's ugly head in the NFL?

We should let football embrace free market principles. If you taunt someone, then it should be fair game for them to take the helmet and gloves off, hockey style, and settle the matter like men. I guarantee you taunting will then become a thing of the past.
