    The rule only protects the receivers from being hit in the head or neck area with helmets, forearms, and shoulders while they are in the process of making the catch. They can still be hit while making a catch, just not in the head or neck area. How retarded would that be? DB's having to stand there and watch a receiver make a play before they can attempt a tackle. Unfortunately, we're almost to that point.

    Regardless, the NFL made the right decision on this matter. At least they got this right. Sometimes, these rule changes (the rule was changed last year) make me wish they would just hurry up and turn it into flag football so I could find something else to do on Sunday's. Slowly watching the game die like this is like being slowly eased into a vat of boiling oil. I think the NFL has forgotten that we loved the game first.
