Edge is used to getting 20+ carries a game. Right now, they are limiting him to around 14.

He'll be fine and hopefully his hard work will prove how much he means to the Colts.

I really hope Polian Irsay find a way to give Edge a long contract and keep him a Colt for life.

I'd rather let Edge go and keep Freeney, good Running Backs are easy to get. DEs are not.

Freeney will stay since he's the player Dungy needed in his system.

I don't agree that RBs are easy to find.

It is hard to find a RB that can run, catch and block. A lot of teams like Cincinnati and New England need two RBs. One for running downs and short yardage and another for passing downs and blocking.

Edge is much better at catching and blocking than all of the other RBs on the Colts roster.

The only RBs I would want in place of Edge are Alexander, L.T. and Westbrook (when they are at 100% health of course).

with your weapons I dont really think you need a catching Running Back.
Even without Edge and Reggie you still got Marvin, Clark, Hartsock and to a lesser extent a really overpaid Brandon Stokley.

Freeney will be an interesting situation.

Actually, a catching RB is necessary. Especially when teams drop all of their guys back into coverage. Edge can swing out and pick up 3 or 4 yards.

If you watch the SD game vs the Colts, Edge was open all day long in the flat. And got a first down after catching the ball in the flat.

Watch the playoff game and see how many balls Edge catches if the defense tries the Chargers' approach.

Edge is not a GOOD running back, but a GREAT one, and there is no one out there (who will be available in the off-season) who can give them even 75% of what he does.

Also, it is not a question of Edge or Freeney, since Freeney is under contract through 2008 (although the last year is a balloon payment), but a question of Edge or Reggie Wayne. I'd like them to keep both, but if it comes down to one or the other, I'd take Edge every day and twice on Sunday.

I never said Edge was a good running back - great - we will see how he does outside a Colts offense.
But good ones are easy to find, just take Denvers 5th string Running Back, he'd likely be good anyway.

Edge or Freeney - I may come down to that along with your other highly paid players can you afford both Edge and Freeney?

(and yeah i'd take Edge over Wayne without even thinking)

Do you seriously think the Colts are better than the Patriots? Let's look at this closer

Patriots- Superbowl champions how many times?
Colts- Superbowl champions how many times?

    You do the math

Well, history is history. By your conclusions, England is still the worlds #1 Naval Power. :sad2:

    But since you asked:

Patriots - 3 time SB champs
Colts - 1 time, soon to be 2 times.
Titans - 0 time SB champs.
