anyone see the movie this weekend?

 

Made $11 million opening weekend...so, no, not really.

'Concussion' is Will Smith's Second WORST Box Office Opening Ever!

 

Just simply not interesting subject matter. You want to pay 12 dollars to watch a movie to escape reality, not to be hammered with the obvious fact that repeated blows to the head is bad for the brain.

Nothing about the movie makes me want to see it, and I am probably the target audience.

 

That is definitely a reason. It didn't really have an intended audience.

Another reason is the weird release date. We're done unwrapping presents, so lets take the kids to go watch an overly dramatic, not really based on true events biopic about concussions in the NFL.

 

I think watching this movie will feel like repeated blows to the head.

 

Will smith is painfully past his prime.

Besides his flagship franchises like MIB, he is not a draw. And I heard he isn't even in the new independence day.

Pushing his punk son into roles has helped kill his reputation.

 

Will Smith sucks.

I thought he was good in Pursuit of Happyness (yes, that's how it's spelled in the title). That might be it.

I'm honestly having a hard time figuring out another one of his movies that I would currently enjoy.

When I was younger I thought Bad Boys and Hitch were good. Highly doubt that's the case now though.

 

Pursuit of Happiness was indeed a good movie. I thought he was decent in I Am Legend as well.

 

He's one of those guys who is good in his 20s and 30s but once he loses thar youth, he's not effective. Nobody wants to see a 45 year old actor/cheesy rapper.

I think he may have a renaissance when he's in his 50s or 60s as an older, wiser character..
But now, he's just stale.
