I'm far from a Collins fan boy, I'm a realist. And yes we do need a play maker at QB but we don't have one on the roster. We have a game manager and a turnover prone bust, take your pick.

 

I'll take the just released NFL retread for .500 Bob.

 

frankly, that's both of them. one is 36 and the other is 26 and still has the possibility of improving.

 

Why doesn't Collins have the opportunity of improving? Why can't he get back to last year's form?

 

because he's only played like last year once in his career. he has never had a season other than 2008 when he had less than ten turnovers. one out of 15 isn't so bad, i guess.

it was the perfect storm for collins' success last year. we had a dominant running game that could control the clock and keep collins in manageable third down situations. a defense in which our offense could afford to go three and out the first three drives and still have a very good chance of winning.

after 14 years of being a turnover machine, did anyone honestly think he was going to be efficient for two years in a row? he hasn't since 1995 and i don't see a reason as to why he would now, especially when we're asking him to be more than the best "hander-offer" in the league now.

 

Collins has only been our full time starter and a game manager for us and for 1 year. I don't care what other teams tried to do with him.
