The squared body thing is good but his throwing mechanics are elongated. It's not because he's tall, it's because he doesn't have a very strong arm so he 'gathers'...meaning he brings the ball in a larger loop going back to try and muscle the ball on a lot of medium to long throws. It takes longer to make those throws (which is a problem) and gives DB's an extra .5 a sec to break on the ball. That is a big reason why a lot of QB's try to shorten there mechanics when they come out for the draft and hire a QB coach to help them do it. If you watch Mariota, he has a much more compact throwing motion and delivery so he gets the ball out quicker when he pulls the trigger.
