Cornerbacks in FA

Depending on how he plays this year, you may be right.

 

Chris Gamble, UFA, Carolina Panthers
Deltha O'Neal, UFA, Cincinnati Bengals
R.W. McQuarters, UFA, New York Giants
Jabari Greer, UFA, Buffalo Bills

I think we will have a realistic shot at the above. I like Gamble and O'Neal a lot.

 

O'Neal is old and an all or nothing CB who gambles to much and gets burned for it. He's fast yes but at 35 and the fact that he's not a good tackler I say pass.

Gamble is overrated IMO and will be overpaid in FA.

Greer is solid not great and Hayden is a very good CB and underrated would love to land him.

Hopefully Cary Williams will suprise but Hayden and even a CB through the draft is a possibility because Rey Hill will leave and possibly a guy like King or Fuller.

 

I don't want a CB who has played zone. It's a tough transition for them to go man to man, in coverage.

 

Deltha o'neal is 31 not 35. A bit of information that is obtainable by simply typing his name and clicking. He entered the league in 2000 one year after jevon kearse and ran a 4.38 40 at the combine..

By comparison harper is 34. For o'neal it would all depend on cost. He would be a nice #2 type corner for a couple of years if he didn't cost more than $4-5M a year.

 

That will not happen. Good corners get paid a ton on the market, and he will get a Florence type deal (30 mil for 4 years). Way too much for a pretty good corner who is past his prime.

 

Maybe we should draft Malcolm Jenkins,CB, Ohio St.
