could we be working on a switch to a 3-4 ?

It wouldn't make it any easier to stop the run. You still have to have good players in the front 7 regardless of the scheme. The Texans ran a 3-4 previously and they sucked stopping the run...

 

I think a 3-4 is the better defense acutally, IF you have the right players in the system

 

If there was such a thing as a superior scheme then everyone would want to run it. Certain schemes have advantages and disadvantages, and some fit one group of personnel better than another does. But that's it...

 

starters - bulluck, thorton, tulluch, folwer

backups - nande, robert reynolds, spencer toone


seems liek we have a pretty good slew...w/ adequite backups 2...



...just pointing out that 'not enough lbs' is not the reason for not switching.

 

if we had plans for switching dont you think it would be in the media by now?

 

how about "we dont have enough of the right linebackers"

 

or a good enough Defensive coordinater to mix up all those numbers, he just cant handle that kind of math guys, lets be reasonable.

 

actauly the 3-4 is built on speed and most those guys listed have very good speed

bulluck, thorton, tulloch, nande are all actauly very fast

actaully fowler too

also thing about 3-4 i like is that it promotes LB rush...and i think our LBs are very suited to rush ...mainly bulluck and thorton..very speedy and shifty

 

most of the guys we have are also 235 or smaller. you need bigger linebackers, not to mention a rush linebacker for the edge.

we would also be wasting our most talented end in KVB.

 

true our lbs are kinda small..but that doenst mean it wont work
