Could we trade down in the first round?

    If you look at the draft as an investment portfolio, then it's clear why the Patriots draft well. The Patriots got the 33rd pick this year for the 89th pick last year. According to the draft chart, that's a 400% return. We gave up a the 47th pick for the 89th pick (Jared Cook). That was a 296% investment for them again. They invest for the future, eventually they just get to the point where they still have good picks every year, even after trading.

    Imagine what cooks number would have been last year for the Patriots,

    I reckon Jared Cook will be well worth the second round pick and will show it next year
