Craig Stevens

Drafting Stevens in the third round isn't what has made this team so bad for the last several years. Missing on first or second round players (including 2 first round qbs) every year is what has doomed this team.

 

I remember Mularkey saying "every time you ask Craig Stevens to make a play, he makes a play." The team values him. He does have better hands than we think.

The guy gets left wide open sometimes because the defense does not expect him to do anything. Stevens is kind of like a blind hog. Even a blind hog stumbles upon an acorn every now and then!

His blocking is way overrated too

 

I'd honestly have Stevens blocking than Walker or Supernaw. At least Stevens doesn't get penalties called against him every other run play like those two.

 

I don't think resigning Stevens was the best move the Titans made in free agency by a long shot, but it isn't a horrible one either. The guy has a role to play on the team. He doesn't catch a lot of passes, but obviously the coaches and front office see value in keeping him. He isn't the worst TE to have on the team for depth.

Blaming him as a reason the Titans haven't been winning for the last seven years is beyond stupid! Missing on qbs, early draft picks, free agents, head coaches, and gms is why the team is in the shape it's in.

I will grant you the contract fishface gave CS was outlandish, but now that he is being paid like a vetran STer that gets a dozen or so TE snaps on a normal sunday I got zero problems with CS or his contract.

Look at it this way. Without Wizinator's insanity CS might not be a Titan w1 no matter the contract
