crazy Australian dust storm

What's worse... he's driving on the wrong side of the road! :ha:

 

Have to question the intelligence of driving INTO it.

 

Pretty sweet, but it is puzzling why he's going into it. Pretty dangerous.

 

Hey G, are these common? Dangerous? I can see them being bad for the old paint job, and hard on visibilty... but in itself does a sandstorm cause much damage?

I drove through not one, but two small tornadic storms yesterday; complete with hail, funnel clouds and the whole bit. I'm glad I was driving the old beast, because I'd have crapped myself watching the hail beat down on the nice unblemished shiny new sled.

Took a phone pic when I was entering the first storm (note the little Tick toy on the dash ). I'm not sure it transltes but it was reeeeeally ominous looking (and obviously got much worse). This was taken at 9AMish... it's sunny behind me and pitch black ahead.



We've already set a record for summer rainfall here... it's been a wild summer weather-wise.

 

I wouldn't know. First I ever seen one actually. It's clearly top end, middle Australia (where the desert is), where I live, there's nothing like it.

 

And that other dude was doing the same thing! Weird!
