    Having a FS who can also cover like a CB is always a good thing. He was a known talent before the draft out of Fresno State.
    Maybe this move onto the active roster means we'll be seeing a lot more 3 safety defensive alignments? Not a bad idea, since our LBs aren't too hot in pass coverage...

    Yep. And I'm guessing it's getting the desired results, so we'll be seeing it more regular, which means they need more backups, as they only had 4 safeties before this move.

    I really like the 3 S looks we've seen. Get your best players on the field. Stafford has really impressed me so far. A former 7th round pick that has just found a way to 'stick' on the roster time & time again, and is now really contributing. He had a really nice game vs the Lions. LeBeau was just praising him (and Dodd) after practice today.
