They must have went down since I last had service with them. Charter was my provider before we moved to DirecTV (2+ years ago) and there toward the end I was paying damn near $200 for my cable package, HBO (maybe SHO?.. can't remember) and internet.

    Yikes.

Even if I was paying full price with HBO (and other premium channels) it would only be like 130 with Internet and phone.

I got my bill today and it is 108 with tax and all.

They usually make you pay for all the premium movie channels as a package. That is where I got my deal I guess.

But yea I know my rep so he gave me free HBO for the first year.

If they jack my bill up 30 bucks in 11 months I'll cancel.

you'd be surprised how many people would just "let it go."

You have to be a miser in today's "automatic bill pay" society, or else people will take you to the cleaners.

As for cable, F it. I don't miss it. If there's something I NEED to watch, I'll go to a bar, or to a friend's house.

I save myself maybe 1200 dollars per year.

If it were up to me, I would not have cable because I barely use it - especially in the offseason.

It's only $50 each. We have a pretty good deal with Comcast - $99 for cable (with HBO)/Internet for a year.

Once they raise the price, cut it off and go to best buy and talk to those reps. They can actually give better deals than Comcast themselves can.

I do not cable. This is what I think it's like to deal with cable providers:

Comcast raped my wallet directly for 90 dollars a month on internet, Charter gave me a much better deal, for about 1/3 of that...

But where we live now it's satellite internet, and believe me, you don't want sat net. we get 10 gigs a month, and that **** runs out in about a week.

I know a guy, that knows a guy, that has a cousin, that can get you all the cable channels for a onetime fee of 25 dollars.
