I'm sure the huge settlement helped secure his retirement ;)

Former Titans wide receiver David Givens settled for $5,115 in a workers’ compensation case against the team and its insurance company stemming from a 2006 thumb injury.

The settlement was filed on Thursday in Davidson County Chancery Court.

Givens, who signed with the Titans in 2006, hurt his thumb in October of that year. A month later, he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

He filed a $25 million lawsuit in 2009 in federal court; it was dismissed last year. He accused the Titans of withholding medical information from him and encouraging him to play despite his being advised that a knee condition could not withstand the rigors of NFL competition.

He injured the thumb when he shoved it up his ass on the day he banked his signing bonus from the Titans. :clown:

He should've known better than to come to Nashville as a bigger-name FA expecting to improve his career, considering that has never happened in our time here at the WR position.

Tennessee is where WR's go to die. The only good WR's we've ever had all came from the draft.

I'm trying to think... what was our best FA WR pickup? Gage? Bobby Wade? Drew Bennett was undrafted, but I don't think that counts.

nate washington isn't so bad. I think he has been solid for us.

Maybe Thigpen? He was at least productive right up until we signed him. Honestly don't remember a good FA acquisition at WR for us. It's like we sign them, then they get the injury bug.

Nate may actually be the best, seeing as how he's been productive. You can say what you want about his dropped passes, but he's been decent in the redzone.

Washington has to be up near the top of the list by this point. Several years with few injuries and a decent (for the Titans) number of catches and TDs. He's far from a true #1 WR, though.

Sadly Nate Washington is our best free agent WR. And we have/had Randy Freaking Moss! WTF.
