As we all know Keith Bulluck is a pro bowl linebacker that should have been to the pro bowl the last 3 years at least. He is having another great Keith Bulluck like year. The guy that deserves a lot of credit though is David Thorton. He is leading the team in tackles (12 more today) and is playing like the linebacker that we needed when we signed him. I just want to say great job David.... Keep it up!!

Thornton really did have a great game today. He was everywhere, and made a lot of plays that won't make the highlight reel, but will help us win games.

Not to mention, he's a very nice guy and very much a gentleman. He looked cute today in his pinstriped 2-piece ensemble.

They both probably deserve it, but I bet that neither of them will make the pro bowl just because neither really stands out compared to the other.

I think every single titan defensive player should be in the pro bowl!

Thornton is a fine player to be sure but this is a conference of outstanding OLBs. Just because a guy is good doesn't mean he is a pro bowl player..

Of course i have been watching but thornton has always been a good player. He once had 145 tackles for the colts one year. Just being a good player doesn't mean he deserves a pro bowl. We can look at everything in this insulated way and say that since he is a titan and also a good player he deserves a pro bowl but there are 32 starting OLB in this conference..

Do you think thornton is more deserving than mike vrabel for a pro bowl? There are only 3 guys selected out of 32 and you think 2 of those 3 guys will be titans and should be titans?

Things are easier this season with porter out of the picture and suggs considered a DE. Thomas is playing inside for the pats and june and spikes are in the nfc...

Thornton has been solid, no doubt about it. But..
Look up the leaders in the AFC in total tackles and see how he stacks up. There are about 7 OLBs with as many tackles or close to the same.

Note, these stats don't have this weeks games:

Thomas Howard for Oakland has about the same number of tackles but he has 4 ints (and 1 sack) to David's 1 and Howard has 2 TDs. Derrick Johnson has about the same number of tackles as Thornton but also has 3 sacks to David's none. Donnie Edwards is the leading OLB in tackles and he has one sack and one int. In other words there are a number of OLBs having as good or better seasons as Thornton.

How about the sack guys, those guys who play on 3-4 teams? They usually get preference in pro bowls. Merriman and Phillips both have 5.5 sacks each. Vrabel has 4.5 sacks this year (he had at least one against the Skins and a forced fumble).
