I agree we need another RB and think it would relieve pressure from CJ - that is if they fix the O-line. I also agree with other posters in the fact that CJ can't beat defenders around the corner like he used to and he is not an elite "playmaker". CJ has good speed and if he had an O-line would be/is a good RB, but he's not our go to guy on 3rd & 1. CJ is not a problem but saying he is the best player on our team is not a compliment in my opinion in regards to what we have to compare him to. Maybe true, but it's definitely sad that our team doesn't have a "face" of the franchise.

CJ is the face of the franchise. So what are you talking about. You can complain about CJ all you want but the one thing you bring up is his speed? and did you just say he has "good" speed? If cj has "good" speed than every other player in the nfl has "average" speed.

CJ's still got it...we just got to help him out...It's kind of hard to run the ball when your offensive line is abysmal and opposing teams don't respect the pass.

Peyton Hillis would be the perfect change-of-pace back...we just gotta make sure he gets his daily dose of roids lmao

Thank you so much. It's the point I've been trying to make. They still won't listen though. This man ran a 4.24 only 4 years ago, he is 27 years old which is still well within the prime of most elite sprinters, hasn't had a MAJOR lower body injury, yet they claim that somehow he "lost it" and all they can cite as evidence is the fact that he has dudes on him before he even gets the ball. When people have the perfect angle on you and are fast themselves, you will get tackled, speed isn't some magical force.

    fee wings - whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo - fee wings

if :cj: was so dependent upon his OL then why did he hold out and NOT demand upgrades in the unit that makes him so pretty real good?

lol becauseee we never knew he was so dependent even though it could have been figured out pretty easily that a small back isn't going to open holes himself and move 300lb bodies out of the way. Also you would think an organization would try to field the best team possible and not neglect the interior of the o-line for more than half a decade when there already weren't even any good players there.

This is a logical fallacy just because he did not make personnel an issue during his hold out (hold outs are almost exclusively all about money) that doesn't mean that he doesn't want a good OL. No RB in the world would say no to having a good OL. Also it's possible that he thought his linemen would be good enough to get the job done. Part of being on a team is having faith in your teammates. I doubt he saw them as the group of scrubs the fans see them as.

Furthermore could you imagine the backlash if CJ did what you're suggesting? The media and fans would rip him to shreds for "throwing his teammates under the bus". Most guys who hold out are automatically labeled as selfish by fans so asking for teammates to effectively be cut or benched because they suck would make things much worse.
