SUMMARY: When GM Mike Reinfeldt was unable to bring in big name players to replace Travis Henry, Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade, many were critical of the direction the Titans were going. What Reinfeldt and coach Jeff Fisher's plan entailed was sprinkling in veteran players and have them compete in training camp to determine the starters and use others to improve depth. Reinfeldt's goal was to identify the strengths and weaknesses in his team, add talent where needed and allow younger players on the team the opportunity to increase their role and responsibilities. “You have a young offensive line that is potentially able to dominate games and young Pro Bowl quarterback,” Reinfeldt said. “We had some players on defense that were playmakers, but just needed more people around them.” Not being cap-strapped also allowed Reinfeldt the luxury to add depth in many areas. “It’s important that we have depth,” Jeff Fisher said. “We have positions right now that if we were to lose a player for a play, a series or a week or whatever, we have a comfort level playing the players that are in the backup spots.”

What do I think about this story? I think this article would not have been written if Josh Scobee hadn't injured himself during warm-ups.

How many "keys" can we have for our solid start? VY is "key". The CBs stopping the run is "key". The OL is "key". The DL is "key". Keith Bulluck is "key". The running game is "key".
