Detailed description of our struggles in the passing game

I thought JR wanted "accountable and intelligent" players? JR is starting to show he is human after all.

 

Sadly it appears some of receivers don't know a curl from an out.

Same story 3-4 years from now then clearly he was not the answer.


Titans roster was so full of projects and retards even turning over 30ish spots is only a start. Some of those 30ish were bound to only be Titans because the Webster guy holding that spot did not even belong in the NFL

 

To be fair, some of our older WR's probably freelanced IF they had a QB they knew well and could get away with that type of stuff. I mean, in logic, if you are open after 14, why run into coverage at 18 yards? The trouble is there is no chemistry between MM and them. They are doing what they did for years, but MM is expecting something else. Just a guess.

 

Sounded legit. He's not an idiot. The timing is clearly off. Hopefully we start making plays. I did like how we hit on 3 plays over 20 yards finally

 

Probably why people say he looks "lost" and "confused" as described by posters and journalists. Because they're not doing what the play called for and I imagine his thought process is somewhere along the lines of:
"wtf are they doing?"
"Wait no that's not right"
"did I call the right play?"
"Oh ****! **** it, throw it anyway"
"Hey my bad?"
"That's me learning and I'll get better"

#1 problem is that we aren't committing to the run on 1st down enough which makes no sense whatsoever.

Once you commit to doing that, then you can open up with some PA plays on 1st down and whatnot.

For whatever reason we are passing on 1st down almost twice as much as we're running it... and this is with Murray tearing it up. He's up over 5 YPC and not that FF is always a good barometer, but he's the #1 fantasy RB right now.

This team has always struggled on 1st down and it ends up putting us in horribly predictable 3rd down situations.

In past years when our running game was absolutely sh*t it made way more sense to open with the pass to set up the run. But we stuck to the run on 1st down and ended up 2nd and 10. Now that we finally have the run game going and the OL at its best since 08-09, we have decided to pass on 1st down and put ourselves in more 2nd and 10 situations... which then puts us in obvious passing situations on 3rd down.

This team is moronic.

I hope JRob has told Robiskie/Mularkey to run the damn ball on 1st down 65% of the time.
