Idk I think that makes us even more predictable sticking to the run on 1st downs. Plus it seems like 2nd down is always a run play.

I hope to get a chance to see this vid soon. As someone in the music business, I know how frustrating it is when someone who's talented simply won't learn wtf they're asked to or won't follow simple direction.

This is my biggest problem with Robiskie/Mularkey. After an incomplete on 1st down, we are ~100% run on 2nd down. You can't be that predictable.

I would get them focused. Start withholding paychecks.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mularkey always has preached that the better a receiver blocks, the more he helps extend drives and creates more opportunities to catch the ball.

"Receivers need to understand how blocking sets up the play-action game," Mularkey said. "If you come off the ball at the same angle you are blocking them, except now you run by them and they don't know, is it or isn't it? You're going to affect them both in the run and the pass."

To hear Robiskie tell it, that may not be completely clicking in with the Titans yet.

“I don’t think it’s hard to get them all timed in,” Robiskie said. “It’s just hard to get the receivers ... to just keep blocking, just keep blocking, just keep blocking and then we’re going to throw you one. Their job is to catch balls. They want to catch it in the first quarter, in the second quarter, on the first play of the game, on the second play of the game.

“They just want you to throw it to them. It’s hard to keep them focused. And when you get the point when you call an 18-yard comeback, he’s been blocking for so long, he’s excited, ‘Oh, I’ve got one coming.’ Now he’s excited, excited, excited, ‘I’m open, throw it to me.’ We’ve just got to get precise.

"But it’s not as difficult as people would say to get the two tied in.”

Some of the plays are horrible calls but this is why some of us havent jumped off the ship yet.

New offense. New WRs. Second year QB. Every one of them are struggling.

If were still doing some of these bad playcalls around game 8 to 10, Ill pull out my pitchfork and join the mob.

Not when the run game is working. Second half of the Raiders game they couldn't stop our run even when they knew it was coming. Same thing used to happen with Eddie in 99 and 00. Just wear defenses down.

Better to be predictable on 1st and 2nd than on 3rd.

We are a team that needs to set up the run to pass. Not the other way around.

Play action should work for us consistently I feel . We are already viewed as a running team, I love play action on first down , I hate 2nd down runs after an incompletion. I wish we could roll mariota out more on 2nd downs after incompletions so he has an option to run or throw . He needs to get out of the pocket more in general.

First, you need players to do their jobs. Run the right routes and depths. Once that happens consistently (trust and accountability), then you can make adjustments (chemistry) over time.

You can't make adjustments on the fly when you don't have a consistent foundation to work from!

it is NFL OC playcalling 101

first down unsuccessful - run or pass - almost always do the opposite on second down
