You can only hit the hole when it is there. Last year, the OL didn't open up too many holes. So CJ's only choices were run into a big pile of people (he isn't big enough to make that work), dance and wait for a hole, or bounce it outside.

Dancing and bouncing outside aren't the best ways to run the ball, but what choice did CJ have?

I am not trying to deflect all of the blame away from CJ though. The OL sucked last year, but CJs holdout definately affected him esp. with the change in blocking scheme. I think that he will get it together though.

But aside from last year CJ had some of the best vision in the league. His speed is great, but it was is vision and bust that really helped him get to 2k. Not so much top end speed

Find a run here where AP spends more than the second behind the line.

Run plays are all desinged with a hole in mind.

No, you aren't supposed to wait for anything. You run through the hole.

Now, feel free to engage in a real discussion; or you can continue to post like an illiterate 12 year old with an internet warrior complex.

No need for patience. Speed and power are everything. That is why Chris Henry was such a good RB for us.

To be fair, its probably the tourrets. He stutters like that when he talks too.

There was usually a hole where Amano was lined up. Of course, you had to get past the tackle coming dead at you to use it.

That is pretty much my point. Speed and power aren't that hard to find these days at RB, and here we are stuck with a scat back who is also one of the highest paid backs in the league.

My point is CJ has more than speed. He has good vision, he was behind a crappy oline last year. Vision is only good when the holes are there. You act like all CJ has is his speed. That is not true.

Pretty much. His vision is pretty bad. How many times has he had the outside completely open and turns in to run in to a blocker or a tackler? Too many.

I'd say that Johnson has average to above average vision that is covered by the fact that he has amazing agility, acceleration, and top speed (although his top speed seems to have left a little bit). Johnson's issues last year are largely due to the offensive line being atrocious and Johnson simply not caring. If he has a year similar to last year then he will probably not be on the team in 2013 and replaced with a draft pick. Maybe Rex Burkhead out of Nebraska.

Marcus Lattimore of South Carolina would be my dream.
