People do not understand that the reason Martin is having so much success in Tampa is because of Blount. He basically gave away his spot because of his poor attitude and work ethic. It was a mistake that he made it on our practice squad, but a blessing in disguise. Guy has been absolute garbage and will probably continue to be.
Then the trade idea is even more luny since no team is going to want CJ and his contract + giving up a pick when he is going to be cut. Sorry, I assume the trade talk was before the trading deadline. If we wait until the end of the season we won't be able to get anything for him. Obviously there is no reason to cut him mid season although that would be great for CJ. He can actually finish the year out on a team that is going to the playoffs. While I agree right now it might be hard to "justify" paying CJ 12 mil next year even with a big finish but Titan fans should think realistically what the front office will do if CJ is cut. Obvious the thought is now we can go out and get a couple of 6 mil FAs or three 4 mil guys or whatever. Oh really? Do we really think that is going to happen? Nice to know you guys are in favor of Bud keeping his money because that is what will happen. We also have a dilema at RB that has to be solved. There is nobody on the roster so we would have to use a draft pick and potentially a high one. So my reasoning is if we don't have a specific need for that money use the draft pick on other positions and keep CJ. Assuming CJ finishes strong he is still a benefit to Locker if they can get on the field together both playing at a high level.
So you think that you could plug in any decent running back into that "System" and they would have similar results? You think CJ would thrive on the bucs?
Somewhat, I have not really kept up with them this year, but I do know that their line was a problem last year. With that said, I doubt their line was any worse than ours.
What are you talking about? We could just pick-up any one of the Steelers 5 RB's, 3 of them will be free agents and they're all better suited to play behind our current O-Line than C.J. is. RB is easy to fill.
