Yeah, #33 has a lot of value from the sense of it gives teams a day to reset everything, take a look at who's fallen out of the first, who's left, field trade calls, etc. Just let's you take a breath and start fresh.

There are no guarantees of a great player at any spot in the draft, but it at least lets you go back and talk to scouts, watch a tad of film, review notes, etc on guys you didn't think would be there.

Another good/bad thing about the #33 pick is that you don't have the 5th year option which could be bad. The contract being a second round pick is good. So depends on the player.

IF N.O. is willing, I would trade #5 and our pick #100 3rd or 4th rounder for #12 and #32. I'll risk it and pay more now for the 5th year option. Though 3 first round picks would not be cheap.

I could see Jags go Fournette at 4 as well. Foster would be a good pick for us.
Currently Gabbert is a FA so only Hoyer and Barkley are SF QBs.
I think SF re-resigns Gabbert to a 1 year deal and they go after Cousins next year. Lynch signed a 4 year deal, doubt they are looking for an immediate turnaround.

Barkley did look like a world beater against us... then again our secondary was made up of swiss cheese and prayers.

And my understanding is his contract was 6 years, so yeah, they're probably looking to build it right and not just throw something at the wall and hope it sticks. If the right QB isn't there, don't take him.

I don't see SF going QB at 2. So many other roster holes to fill. They will go after Cousins next year.

Agreed. Foster would be a great pick for us but not at #5.

Lol I love this logic. Let's avoid all the picks that historically don't produce a **** ton of all pros and manuever around the draft board to all the spots that have the highest hit rate.
