Drew Bennett Retires days after signing

Bennett retiring is great, because I felt the Ravens only signed Bennett to get Mason to come back. Having a 'McNair buddy' would really help Mason emotionally get through 2009. Someone so close to #9 is feeling so many different things right about now, and having a close friend who is maybe in a similar situation would be beneficial to Mason.

 

He could have stayed long enough to get his roster bonus too. Anyone know what his signing bonus was? I would love to get hired by a company and a week later take a signing bonus and say 'hey guys ... pass'

 

Ravens are going 6-10 this year.

After looking at the Ravens offensive playbook, I'd retire too.

 

Didn't see it coming, but Bennett was so banged up in St Louis I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise. Look, I liked the guy; he came out of nowhere to being our only ok receiver for a little while - that stretch in '04 sure was exciting. He'll always have that. Nice knowin' ya Drew.

 

just how much ratbird stink has Drew picked up. EG got so stinkified by his stay with the boys he had too shut down his restaurant. I say Drew has earned a shunning at the least ...
