Signing him was a no lose situation for us that has neither hurt us or helped us.It was a risk free gamble that didn't pay off.

Well whatever is wrong with Simon must be a very private & personal problem.

To go out like this after his odd tenure with the Colts suggests the guy has some problems. I hope he's ok & can get whatever help he needs.

Todays paper, (10-25), suggests that the Titans might be interested in Grady Jackson. The Falcons released him, but he did play against the Titans weeks back.
Grady is a big man, 6-2, 362 and I can remember our radio broadcasters stating that he was probably closer to 400.
A couple things I remember about watching him play against the Titans is that the Titans had a hard time containing him. If he got his hands on you, you were going down.
I also noticed his on-field sportsmanship. He's a good player.
But, at his size, he's not an every down player and he limped off our field at one point.
Another point, the Titans will have to sacrifice 2 uniforms to outfit this man, he's beyond 3-XL.

SUMMARY: DT Cory Simon is expected to announce his retirement today. The Florida State product was drafted by the Eagles in 2000 and went to the Pro Bowl in 2003. His retirement leaves the Titans with three defensive tackles: Albert Haynesworth, Tony Brown and Randy Starks. The Titans are among those who have expressed interest in former Falcons DT Grady Jackson.

No doubt that we need another DT after simon played us. But can't we find someone with more tread left on the tires. I know Grady Jackson is a great player but he is up in age though.

I would like Grady also, that being said I don't know that he will make it passed waivers. Would be one hell of a defensive line if we did.
