What about john thornton? Might be able to get him from the bengals cheap. Knows the system, is signed through 08 and still just 31. Bengals are not going anywhere and might be willing to part him for a reasonable price. Cap hit is only $2M..

Don't worry. We went 2 years with jared clauss as our #4 DT and mahelona was our #4 last year. Simon's contributions were just gravy. I would love grady jackson and for a change we could have 2 really big guys in the middle. I could care less if he is a perfect fit for our system just make the best use of the guy. Were clauss and mahelona perfect for any system or just marginal players?

Thats' too bad, but not a big loss. The idea of Grady sounds good, but even Mahelona is decent depth. It's really too bad Johnson is injured, would like to see him.

Grady and Big Al clogging the middle.....you think our run def. is good now this would make it even better.

Get Grady Jackson asap. He's the best out there and would move Randy Starks to the #4 spot where he belongs.

Get Grady. Everything starts down in the trenches. adding depth is always a good thing, certianly when its quality depth.

Depth hah. Stick him in on first downs and short yardage. Our run defense goes up a whole nother notch with Grady in the game.

Corey and his wife were extremely wonderful people. His wife is very elegant and classy. He doesn't have "problems" that need help. He will be missed. It takes a very strong man to actually walk away from the game. Ha, he retired a day after payday!:irked:

These guys are the modern day gladiators.

The NFL life expectancy is so much lower than the average man's. Sounds like Corey was in a lot of pain. Hope it gets better in the future.

I always feel bad for Calico or anyone that comes in the league with promise that never gets a full chance to develop or have a full career due to injuries and pain.

Grady Jackson, awesome, sign him up. 1-2 year deal and a good chance he will make some impact here.
