I was just invited to join a league, but the draft is in 4 weeks LOL, IDK how smart starting a league in June is, but anybody ever had any success drafting in June?

I personally prefer drafting week-3 of the preseason, but Im not running this league so what I want doesn't matter much.

Week 3 or week 4 of pre season is my ideal time for drafting. Anything before that and you're risking injuries and if you have some deep sleepers in mind then they may not even make the team or get knocked down the depth chart.

Not before preseason. Preseason is prime time to find late round gems. That's how I got Alfred Morris last season. Talk about WIN.

As close to regular season as possible is optimal. I am in a league that drafts in early June just after the draft, they like to make it interesting. You have to really brainstorm on how you think rookies will be utilized with their new teams, and also give a lot more thought on drafting injury probe players.

I'm drafting my league with friends on the 9th of next month. It's earlier than when I'd like to do, but to be honest it's a really deep draft (25 rounds) and also a 2 QB line up. I just don't see a huge stress about drafting that early but the later we wait, the harder it's gonna be for everyone to get together. Gotta pull the trigger when we can.

    $250 Yahoo League on Sunday.

Most expensive I've ever done and close to if not the earliest.

Wait wait... 250 each player? Nice! I wish I could find enough people to throw into a pot like that. Maybe next year.

They are still available through Yahoo. Lots more $250 drafts going to happen.

BUT (yes there is a but), Yahoo keeps 10%. So the pot is $2250, not $2500. I think payout is $1250 to winner, $750 to 2nd place, and $250 to 3rd place.

Naw. Naw. For something like that I want to know each and every player personally.
