I bought a used car with aftermarket cruise control on it, never seemed to work right.

Hope your experience is better cause I do like me some cruise control.

Wait, I always thought cruise control used more gas for some reason?

Hmm... may have to start using it again if not.

Just looked it up. Apparently it using more gas is just a myth- it always uses less.

Damn. That sucks to find out so late. haha

Yeah I had always heard it used more as well. Just found out a few months ago that it wasn't true. Better late than never. I now use it all the time on the interstate (except in the rain and stop-and-go traffic).

Well, TCO-wise, it has been cheaper for me to own a gas than an equivalent diesel model.

The gas model was $6000 cheaper, and costs $300 less in yearly taxes.

    yearly taxes???

you have to pay some sort of privilage tax to own a car?

And diesels are more of a privilage?

Yup, you have to pay a yearly "green" tax, based on how you car's milage is. And a diesel with the same milage as a gas is more expensive.

Mine is more or less the cheapest at $100/year.
