ENOUGH with the ads!

    C'mon admins/owner. This site is so eat up with ads it is hardly usable. In fact, sometimes I go to read a thread only to see my browser be hijacked and sent to a different site!


    Please....cut back on the ads, at least the ones that hijack the site.

    You must have some other issues going on because I have yet to experience one hijack from an ad here. I have zero issues with them.

    Does the browser matter? I've had the ad and hijacking problems with Firefox, which is supposed to be more reliable than IE.

    I'd never put an ad on here which hijacks. If that happened, then it's probably some rogue ad one of these networks didn't screen well and quickly removed once made aware.

    I spend a little time each day making sure the ads we get are, at least, decent. I try to get rid of all the white teeth, lose weight, bulk up, make $2000 a month on Google scam ads which you see on sites like Tennessean.com. These ad networks sneak them in almost every day under different names.

    I've never gone down the road of pop-ups or pop-behind ads. I try my best to eliminate all sound, heavy animation, contest-winner and takeover ads as well.

    I don't want to bring this site down because of the ads. But we're at the point now where enough ad revenue justifies an upgrade the server after this season.

    im sure the ads help jeff with funding, so unless you just got enough dough to pay for a new ad free server, i suggest stop complaining and deal with it like the other members

    Arcane-sounds like you are the only one with this problem-which says to me that you probably have spyware. My suggestion is to go to cnet.com click on downloads and install a program called malwarebytes. It's free and imo one of the best cleaners out there of spyware/adware. Hope that helps.
