a guy who never excelled at WR in a pro system, is injury prone, and using a first round pick on someone to spell cj are all things not to like.

we have much bigger needs than gadget player on this team.

    couple things:

    1. F NO! @ Percy Harvin

    2. This is the same babble we heard last season. "Oh we're going to be very creative using him"... uhhh. Never saw it. Other than 1 play vs the colts where the pitched it inside to him. Wow! Such creativity!

    3. I don't think he has the hands to be a threat as a WR. Sort of like Hester. Sure, he MIGHT burn you, but usually he wont make the catch.

  3. We need a WR. Last I checked Percy was rarely lining up at WR. Yes he caught balls out of the back field, but that doesn't mean he is going to be a good WR in the NFL. The guy will make an impact on some team as a kick returner. I doubt he ever develops into a #1 reciever. I would much rather see us get DHB or Kenny Britt.

Chris Johnson needs to show he can catch a screen or a ball in the flats. I don't know how many times he had drops when a back without Johnson ability that made the catch would have had a very nice pickup.

I don't see the Titans pick Harvin in the first. I would be fine with him in the second but the chances that the Titans don't take a WR in the first AND harvin falls are extremely low.

    Um...

Crabtree and Maclin also didn't excel in a pro system...mainly because they don't play in one. Moot point.

Injury prone? He's missed 5 games in 3 years. Not a big deal.

And we're not drafting him for the sole purpose of spelling CJ, but for scoring TD's. He can play slot, return punts AND spell CJ a few plays if necessary.

    Um...

Well, even without using him creatively...

He can be our slot WR, return punts and help a bit at RB if CJ got hurt. And what makes you think he doesn't have good hands? Scouts think he has good hands and catches the ball with his hands...unlike Britt who body catches a lot. If you watch Florida, Harvin has shown good hands in college.

    Um...

He lined up at WR quite a bit...not rarely. He also didn't catch most of his passes out of the backfield. He caught most of his passes at WR. He ran most of the time lined up as a RB.

What makes you think he won't develop as a WR? He has speed, great elusiveness, has good hands, ran the route tree well at his Pro Day, and has played WR. What's the big mystery?

He won't be Larry Fitzgerald on day 1, but he could be an explosive slot in year one while he devlops with an upside of Steve Smith. Britt and Hakeem Nicks don't have that amount of upside...

    Um...

    AGREED!

I will be mildly surprised if harvin falls into rnd 2. I will be astonished if he fell to our 2nd rnd pick!
