As much as the Browns can benefit from it, which means they'll draft busts with it.

That is assuming that Jones is an elite player and the other areas of the team stay the same. Turner turned 29 early this year. They won't have Norwood any longer.

Money wise it is doable because Roddy White has 3 years left on his contract and will make only $6M in salary a year. They certainly will not have to worry about paying a 2nd rd pick this year or a first next year.

I love Julio Jones and would have had no complaints had we drafted him with the 8th pick. But reality tells us he is a WR and he has had some injuries in his career. A broken leg in high school. A broken wrist and a broken ankle as well as ankle sprains and a knee last year.

The Falcons acted arrogant with this trade because they basically are saying that they have a complete team already and just need that one guy. They are not complete!

Jon Abraham is getting old. Turner is 29. Gonzales is going down hill which might be a reason for making this trade, to get Ryan another play maker.

They will lose some players to free agency and their backup QB is Chris Redman!

Total moronic arrogance! They could have drafted Dalton to be their backup.

As much as i love Julio they would have been better off sitting pat and just getting the BAP each time.

The key to good drafting is to be visionary and see ahead 3-4 years.

    Best draft day moves:

    Texans taking Watt
    Redskins taking Kerrigan
Browns getting all those picks to rebuild with.

Maybe not the best comparison but the Titans used a 1st round pick to trade for Kevin Carter which was going to give them a nice pair of DEs with him and Kearse. The Titans were obviously a good team and close to a championship so the deal made some sense. Ultimately Carter under performed and was a burden on the CAP. These kind of trades make sense if the player can be elite. The Falcons are close to being a SB team. WIth Turner at 29 and White having 3 years left with Ryan starting to really emerge they obviously feel they have a window to get it done of a couple of years. As Tide said; it is a great move if Jones ends up being an elite player. If not the deal won't help them get to a SB and will hurt their ability to bring in the next wave of young players.

It was a good move by the Falcons it's just risky. Now most of those picks probably won't make an impact for their team (look at the history of picks) so maybe they were thinking might as well trade up and get a guy to help out Ryan but they still have other holes to fill.

Turner being 29 means little. It wasn't til he was 26 that he began playing significant snaps, so he's a young 29.

Have you watched him play? He's mediocre at best in two years max.
