I am impressed so far with Yates and the Texans defense. If it holds up I will admit I was wrong. Lots of football to go. But so far the young QB is doing his job well.

HUGE win for the Texans. The defense played alot better than I thought. The Falcons had their chances and Jones dropped the tying TD. Toooo many dropped passes.

    Great win Texans fans.

Yates did a good job of not making costly mistakes, only that one that was negated by the penalty (but that happens every week in the NFL).

The defense did a good job as well, really shut down the Falcons offense when it counted, and really only getting beat by Gonzalez throughout the game (they have some work to do there).

Anyway, it's a win I didn't expect them to get but they stepped up to the challenge and TJ Yates looked very composed, more so than Leinart and nothing like a typical rookie QB making his first start IMO.

Good job to the Titans beating the Bills also.

Yea, hats off to the Texans as much as I hate them.

Those who were saying that Leinart getting hurt actually helped the Texans were dead on. Yates is good enough for them to win the rest of their games.

Division is out of reach... I will actually be pulling for the Texans next week to beat the Bengals.

Lets not go nuts on Yates. He was under 50% against a bad secondary. The defense/running game won this game. Yates was alright, but now he wont have AJ for the rest of the season.

Houston may have just lost their punter as well. All these Texans wins are coming at a HUGE cost.

    But their defense is legit.

Top 10 defense for sure, top 5 is arguable.... Number 1? I don't think so.

Yates wasn't all that good, I'm not sure what people saw really. Spent most of the day throwing screens and short passes, hidden behind that running game. Texans lucked out with 2 of their turnovers going for 6 but called back. Andre Johnson got hurt again, but that defense is what is keeping that team alive.

2nd in pts allowed, 1st in yards allowed, 2nd in pass yards allowed, 4th in rush yards allowed.

Pretty safe to say they're the #1 D.

What did people see? He threw pretty well on the move, two big dropped passes by AJ and Jacoby Jones stopped drives. He moved around well in the pocket avoiding pressure, he did well when he rolled out on boot legs... and just overall he didn't look like a rookie QB. Was he a world beater? Nope, but he was decent.

Also, the Falcons lucked out when a fumble on the Falcons 20 was over turned by a penalty as well. The other fumble recovery that the Falcons returned for 6 looked like an incomplete pass to me.

Anyway, the offense was good enough, the defense stepped up when it needed to and were putting pressure on Matt Ryan the entire game.

I know the stats are great, the defense is too, but I think the schedule is playing a role in the stats. Don't get me wrong, the defense is VERY good, but they they just haven't played very many good offenses so it's hard to say if the #1 is legit or if it's padded a little bit by the opponents.
