Theirs two things that i cant stand about Favre,#1 the soap opera he feels the need to make every offseason about retiring. Its gotten to the point where its making every football fan and every sports fan despise the guy, dont get me wrong hes going to go down as probably one of the top 10 QB's of all time, but stop with all the drama. #2 when he has decided to come back and play, all it takes is one really bad game for him to bring up the question in a post game interview of whether or not he made the right decision of coming back. Its happens every year,if your not going to be 100% committed to the decision you made before the season starts regardless if your winning or losing then dont play.

OH man ..... I don't really care whether people hate on BF or not but do so for legit reasons. The main arguments on here are because of the retirement saga with the Green Bay Packers.

Someone earlier in this thread stated that he always brings the retirement into play after a bad game. Does anyone really know what goes on at media interviews. Do you guys really think for one second that Farve is bringing this up time and time again. Or maybe , just maybe, get this, REPORTERS ARE ASKING HIM THIS EVERY *bleeping* INTERVIEW HE DOES.

I agree that this retirement issue has gotten regurgitated enough to make anyone sick( thank god it is over). Being up in Canada my main access into the football world is NFL network and I really hated having to listen to the "retirement countdown" every year. Or seeing Farve's top ten plays over and over and over. But I am not short sighted enough to realize that this is quite possibly one of the toughest decisions one man could make. Picture living nearly your entire life playing a sport you love. It literally is a way of life for you. And then as the years pass by people start questioning if you can do it anymore, leading the way for all the annoying questions like " when will you be retiring" or " how much longer will you play". Is it really a "soap opera" he creates? Or maybe he's just a man making a decision the he will have to look back on and question for his remaining years?

I am not trying to stick up for the man himself. If you dislike him, dislike him for the right reasons. If he was an *******, or caused problems like shooting up strip clubs I could see for the hatred. But having to make a decision of a lifetime in the most highly profiled position in all of sports I do not envy. And because reporters have nothing else to go on and throw it down our throats over and over again is not Farve's fault.

Yes it is. He could handle the reporter's comments differently.

Hell, he could give a no comment everytime he was asked the question and that pretty much kills most stories, right?

Brett should just keep his mouth shut until he files his retirement papers
and with them IN HAND, hold a press conference and announce it officially

this just sounds like he wants out of New York

Until Brett Favre is dead (old age or otherwise) I will not believe it.
