MINNEAPOLIS It was hard to make too much of a judgment on the first-team defense against the Vikings, as the unit was without seven starters — safety Bernard Pollard, cornerback Jason McCourty, defensive tackles Jurrell Casey and Sammie Hill, defensive end Ropati Pitoitua, and linebackers Akeem Ayers and Zach Brown.

Still, the Titans continued a troubling preseason trend by allowing touchdowns on each of Minnesota’s first two drives.

In the preseason opener, the Redskins scored a touchdown on their second drive. In the second week, the Bengals scored touchdowns on their second and third drives. In the third week, the Falcons booted field goals on each of their first two drives.

Minnesota was 4-of-6 on third-down conversions in the first half and 2-for-2 on trips into the red zone.

“We just weren’t executing and we weren’t getting off the field,” linebacker Moise Fokou said. “Our emphasis has been getting off the field on third downs and stopping people in the red zone. We did a good job last week against Atlanta, but this week was a different story.”

Said coach Mike Munchak: “I would have liked to see the defense get a stop on that drive before the half. We’re doing some good things at times, but the young guys have to get some more stops.”

    Also, Derrick Morgan didn't play.

So our first team defense missing 9/11 starters struggled.

    First team defense my butt.

I missed the first half, but caught it on the radio. When I heard our starting lineup on defense I knew it would be ugly.

I guess it was technically the 'first team' for that game lol, but yeah calling saying it like it was all the starters that will be playing week 1 is just wrong.

That's all you need to know. That's literally all our playmakers, besides D'Morg.
