    It's understandable..

Reese sees himself as the man who built this organization and then got pushed out. Of course he is liable to be a bit harsh in his analysis.

All that said our team should be in much better shape than it is had he not had several poor drafts. 3 DEs in 04 and now in 07 we have to draft another one. Same with our CB situation and reese has sucked drafting Wrs. 34 draft picks in three years but our needs were not met.

Poor drafts or not Reese hit the jack pot in the off-season last year and in the draft. Some of our problems are stupidity by the current regime and some of it is simply bad luck.

What if Givens never got injured and Pacman wasn't such a jack ***.
Now how does Reese look? Was Mawea a good signing? How about Hope? Thornton? KVB? Where would this team be without those guys?

Maybe Hill seemed to take a slide but he was a 7th round pick that started at CB. How about Finnegan?

This team has taken steps backward and it is obvious to anyone without rose colored glasses. Even if we had to over pay we should have kept Henry IMO.
Now with the departure of Bennett and Wade we are desperate to get some WR talent and our answer so far is Gage? LW wasn't a bad draft pick IMO but we have zero depth behind him now and the running game is huge for us and our success. Heck, our needs in this draft are enormous and there simply are not enough 1st day draft picks available to meet all of them. Even at that just because we draft a guy doesn't mean they will ever fill the need.

Reese wasn't perfect by any stretch but he left with a decent core of talent, a bunch of draft picks and a bunch of CAP space. We lost a bunch of key players and have Fowler and Gage to show for it. Unless we somehow hit a grand slam in the draft I would say everything Reese said is right on.

I've glad more people are recognizing we have sucked so far in off-season.

Some people are realizing this, some are unwilling to see this, and then there's a few that believe after the second rounds of cuts we'll pick up the ones cut for salary cap room (even though the salary cap increased this year and will again next year) .
