Just please put someone on the field who doesn't think he is playing flag football. The guy has been among the league leaders in missed tackles the past 2 years! Almost anyone of those names mentioned would be an upgrade, heck I would give Markelle Martin a try.

Why do you say that? We have a good bit of cap room. Why not go after the best options? Assuming they're even available of course.

Griffin wasn't franchised, ever. He agreed to it, but never was.

I agree completely... we don't have many high paid players, our #10 overall pick won't be breaking the bank and there is no other major position where we'd throw a ton of money at.

We can address O-line & Nickel corner (our second biggest need in my opinion) with the rest of the draft, but a big play safety doesn't come along too often.

I think we'd be silly to not go hard after one of those guys.

..Unless the FO is content with us having a below average team and wants to do nothing to upgrade us.

Patrick Chung would be a good signing in my opinion, and probably get him on a reasonable contract - 4 year 14million or something. Bryd and Goldson would get way more.

Failing that Landry is a player who fits our needs.

FWIW I've talked to a few of my die-hard Pats-fan friends about Chung and none of them are overly impressed. "Shows flashes." "Not consistent."

I don't watch enough of the Patriots to really say one way or the other. But hey, just about anything would be an upgrade at this point.

I agree. It seems to me that Griffin's level of play is directly related to the overall defense's level of play. In 2008, when Haynesworth was pushing someone into the QB's face, Griffin was awesome. Griffin is totally capable of playing well. That's what is so frustrating.

He's good in the box, just not much of a coverage guy

Bills will probably put the tag on Byrd. Otherwise he should be number 1 on our offseason wish list.

Griffin is that kid that does what everyone else is doing. He's a follower. He can't set the tone himself so when it's on him, we fail.
