At this point I honestly don't think we will cut CJ, at least not before the draft. I agree that it would make not much sense cutting him right now if we do not spend the money to upgrade our roster. I am still hoping that we can trade him though.
Not hate. I just don't get excited/understand the love about a pass rusher who has 16 sacks in four years.
Let's just cut to the damn point. This is about CJ - again. Ugh
Well IDK if you follow baseball but not every at bat is a home run, sometimes just getting on base is enough to bring in the other guy for a score. Derick Morgan has been that kind of player. He wont wow you with sacks, but he creates pressures which Im sure Pollard and Verner were more than happy to reap the benefits of. Guy is good, I will not sleep til you acknowledge this.
You're going to be really tired.
We spent the 16th pick in the draft on a defensive end to rush the passer. Four years later we need a defensive end to rush the passer. Tells me all I need to know.
We didn't draft him for his pass rushing skills, he's a complete DE who stops the run and does get after the passer well enough. And we dont need a DE, people just like DE's and always want one drafted. In fact we almost always draft 1 DE every draft.
Yes, we need a DE. We keep drafting them because the ones we have suck dick. You need more than 13 combined sacks from your defensive ends.
Three years ago we drafted an LB in round 2. Two years ago we did the same. So we should be set right? Then how come LB is still a need? Think about that when watching this years draft and people here are expected 4-6 stars to come out of it.
