Pre-Game Thread Game 14: Titans @ 49ers

So that's actually a misleading stat for them. Over the past 6 weeks they've been 3rd against the run and are letting up only 3.0 ypc to running backs.

This isn't the quality matchup that season stats would lead you to believe. It's going to be a much uglier day than we'd like.

 

Mularkey will have them ready to play. Think they have laser tag planned for today

every Titan opponent is amazingly talented and will be difficult for even the best teams according to the voice of the Titans


not ripping on you I just get tired of Keith saying Jay Cutler is an amazing QB or that some +30 rb is a HoFer when clearly they are not

 

Totally agree... the reason they have given up so many rushing yds is because teams have gotten leads on them and then run the clock out. They are #1 in the league in terms of runs attempted against their defense at an avg of over 30 attempts a game. They actually only give up 3.9 yds per carry which is 8th best in the league.

The pass defense is actually worse than the run defense. They are 9th worst in terms of yds per completion.

They have a bunch of no names in their secondary.

 

Therefore we will pass a total of 20 times and run it up the middle 40 times. Henry will rip off one huge run and be benched for his insolence. Somehow the players will once again be unable to execute.

DeMarco Murray, Titans: I know, it feels like Murray is a weekly staple here, but since the Titans' Week 8 bye, he's averaging 2.77 yards per carry, 49th among 50 qualified players. Derrick Henry is averaging 5.48 yards per carry in that span. However, he's also on the hate list this week because of a matchup with San Francisco that, believe it or not, isn't as appealing as it was earlier in the season. Since Week 8, the 49ers have allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs, are top 10 in fewest yards allowed per carry, fewest rushing touchdowns allowed and number of 20-yard runs against. They haven't allowed a rushing score to a running back since Week 8 and Murray is going to need a TD here to pay off, as he is averaging just 10.8 carries per game in his past six.

 

Listen to Mike Keith on the night radio show and you'll quickly realize he don't know a dann thing other than how to talk with his sissy ass voice.

 

Odd, teams don't usually show such a boost in defensive performance until they play us.

 

The Mighty Titans will have a sour taste in their mouths after that loss to the Cards. Look for Mariota to go off in this game leading us to a huge victory over the .49ers

I could see the titans being p!ssed off this week and actually playing a half ass decent game and winning.

Or I could see them getting behind and totally quitting.

I just have no idea what to expect from this bunch. Other than disappointment.
